Love in the Time of the Extraction
A series of online gatherings exploring Love in the time of Extraction will run alongside the happenings in Cornwall exploring deeper themes within the work. These gatherings will present a rich tapestry of explorations and include a discussion series.

RiSING Arc opens
Launching November 27th public programme runs until April 2022
All events will include refreshments based on the workshop themes and lead to pieces displayed as part of the installation.
Saturday 27th November
2-5pm
Opening the Land
An open afternoon for local people to come and share stories and places to form a land chart. Marking places in the landscape of celebration and significance.
We welcome everyone to come along and either share or listen to stories.
Sunday 28th November
2 - 5pm
Moon, Wheel and Vein
An afternoon of art and making workshops creating a planetarium.
Forming shapes and forms based on local landscapes, plants and Sky formations.
Monday 29th November
2:30pm – 7pm
Geometry and symbol
An afternoon drop in session of pattern and fabric painting with natural dying
Inspired by Cornish and Middle Eastern geometry and dyes using metals.
The workshop will also use natural pigments and colors from the surrounding landscape to form pattern prints for textile pieces.

A playful afternoon of street games historic and new alongside broom making using collections of plant material from the mining landscape.

With the Syrian Dabke and Cornish Broom Dance
A day for sharing and learning aspects of both dances with drum and experiments with rhythm and brooms
