THE STORM, Utopia programme, Somerset House 2016
Exhibition and performance
Somerset House 2016
The Storm utilises a series of sculptural objects, moving image and sound work to re enact scripts from regeneration processes across the city of London. Bringing together urban researchers, psychoanalysts and Housing Estate residents to create a cross practice exchange, allowing a deeper understanding and sharing of the processes taking place.

Formed as an experimental pedagogy the work takes inspiration from ideas of psychoanalysis, reconstructing situations in order to release the repressed material. The Storm is used as a metaphor for societal crescendos and as a mechanism to join interdisciplinary groups together. Each brewing of the storm explores the stages of change and potency for new ideas, whilst questioning how we act within the Storm.

The Storm brews in response to the increasing privatisation of public spaces, and the sanitisation of interactions and boundaries between people.
The Storm brews in response to the potent viewpoints of human interaction, collective action and the activities that stabilise the local people economy.
